I don’t have the new “Themes” feature in my GMail yet (and probably won’t use them when I do), but my GMail interface just changed over to a new theme without me doing anything (pic above).
Is this one of the new themes or is there a new default GMail theme all together?
Anyone else seeing this?
yep mine just switched too and i don't have access to change themes yet either
I was wondering the same (I found you through google) and now it appeared the new tab .. so be patient 🙂

It's the default. There are about 30 themes right now – some similar to iGoogle. It's a tab in the Settings feature.

This happened to me, too. And it pissed me off because I don't like the new default theme. However, as soon as I disabled “Superstars” in labs, the theme switcher became available. It looks like you've got a number of labs features enabled… try turning them off and see if the theme switcher appears for you.

I believe you may have accidentally clicked on change themes. When the message does pop up again, you will see a whole variety of themes to choose from, and I doubt it that you will not go with a theme because there is a flavor for everyone.
I saw it. I'm kinda digging it but it's also kind of annoying.
